Spring 2010 

21 January: Special Guest Lecture by Jeffrey Kurtzman (Professor of Music, Washington University in St. Louis), "Don Giovanni as Everyman." Ward Hall, room 211, 1:45 pm.

11 March: CUA Faculty Chamber Music Concert with commentary by Professors Grayson Wagstaff and Andrew H. Weaver.  The Mansion at Strathmore, 4:00 pm.

17 March: Spring Meeting of the Capital Chapter of the American Musicological Society at Towson University, at which Ph.D. student Alicia Kopfstein-Penk and MA student Matthew Wallace are finalists for the Lowens Award for Student Research.  Click here for the program and abstracts.

25 March: AMS Lecture Series at the Library of Congress: Steven Swayne (Dartmouth College), "William Schuman's Puzzling Seventh Symphony."  Coolidge Auditorium, noon.

6 May: CUA Musicology Lunch at San Antonio Grill, 1:00 pm.

15 May: University Commencement Exercises.

 

Fall 2009 

25-26 September: Joint Fall Meeting of the Capital and Southeast Chapters of the American Musicological Society at Christopher Newport University, at which Dr. Andrew H. Weaver is giving a paper.  Click here for the program and abstracts.

29 October: AMS Lecture Series at the Library of Congress: Walter Frisch (Columbia University), "Arnold Schoenberg's Creative Journey, 1897-1912."  Coolidge Auditorium, noon.

12-15 November: Annual Meeting of the American Musicological Society, Philadelphia.  We will meet for a CUA Musicology lunch at 12:15 on Saturday 14 November.

17 December: CUA Musicology Holiday Lunch at Colonel Brook's Tavern, 1:00 pm.
